Welcome to St Peter’s Catholic School

I hope the information presented will provide you with a flavour of our exceptional school and the vast array of opportunities available to all of our pupils. St Peter’s Catholic School is a special place and, as a former pupil, I feel privileged and honoured to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school.

Saint Peter is the ‘Rock’ of the Catholic Church and the first Pope. He was chosen to spread the good news.  Faith is our Foundation and, like Saint Peter, we hope and encourage our pupils to use their God-Given talents for the benefit of our special community. We firmly believe all our pupils are made as individuals in the image of God, are special and have a purpose to make the world a better place. We encourage diversity and celebrate our differences and hope to create an environment of tolerance, respect and care for each other.

Academic success is important, as demonstrated by our outstanding GCSE and A Level results and progress measures. However, we believe in developing the whole child and by providing a rich, diverse extracurricular programme our pupils are given a wide variety of opportunities outside of the classroom. The relationships formed with the staff at St Peter’s is one of the elements that makes the transition from main school into our thriving Sixth Form so successful. The vast majority of our pupils stay into Year 12 because of the trust and mutual respect developed between pupils and teachers.

Our Catholic Life, pastoral care, PSHE and Personal Development curriculum is outstanding, ensuring all of our pupils are ready to embark on the next stage of their educational journey. Our highly committed and dedicated staff go above and beyond to ensure our pupils succeed, planning and delivering exciting, challenging and engaging lessons.
