British Values

The Department for Education has published guidance to schools on promoting British values as part of SMSC to prepare young people for life in modern Britain. At St Peter’s Catholic School we take this responsibility seriously, and we actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

These values explicitly taught in our PSHE Curriculum, in Humanities subjects and in assemblies, providing students with the knowledge they need to deepen their understanding.

This reflects our FAITH Catholic Character virtue of being attentive to our community by promoting the active involvement of everyone in decision-making for the benefit of the entire community.
